Dubrovnik International Airport is well connected to major cities worldwide, either directly or via Croatia Airlines and other carriers through the international airports in Zagreb and Split.

A regular bus service by Platanus Travel runs from the airport to the central bus station in Gruž, departing after each scheduled flight arrival. Tickets cost 10 EUR; the ride takes about 30 minutes. Buses stop at Pile (Old City entrance), where city bus line 6 continues to the conference venue. A taxi from the airport costs approximately €40.

Inter-city buses arrive at the central bus station in Gruž. From there, city bus lines 1a, 1b or 3 take you to the Pile stop (Old City), from where several bus lines go to the Conference venue.

Check current traffic and road conditions via the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) website before you travel.

Local Transport

City bus tickets cost 1.73 EUR when bought at stalls, or 2.50 EUR when bought directly on the bus. Several Libertas bus lines serve the conference venue — see the full bus line map for other routes around the city.

Visa Information

Important notice in case you need a visa for Croatia

In order to get a visa for Croatia you should contact the nearest Diplomatic Mission or Consular Office of Croatia. They will provide all necessary information. For a full overview of visa requirements, visit the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs website, where you can find the necessary information in English.

Unfortunately, there is no possibility to send an individual invitation letter from our side. Instead, a joint list of all accepted participants will be sent to the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

In order to speed up the procedure of getting a visa, an accompanying letter regarding the auspices, together with the list of participants who require a visa, will be sent to the Croatian embassies worldwide via the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. Thus, the Legal Person's Letter of Guarantee Form will not be needed. For that reason, please send us the following data at info@diem-dubrovnik.com:

  • Date and place of birth, nationality, passport number
  • Place of issue and validity of travel documents
  • Duration of your stay in Croatia
  • Your accommodation in Croatia
